The inaugural Women’s Pro Baseball League season is bigger than a scoreboard. After more than 70 years without an all-women professional baseball league in the United States, elite women are back on a professional diamond, building a league and a pathway the next generation can see, follow, and someday join.

Springfield belongs in that story. Robin Roberts Stadium is hosting the inaugural WPBL season in a city with its own deep connection to women’s baseball history, including one of the earliest paid women’s baseball games in 1875.
